The search goes unending for the neighborhood eyesore, the fixer-upper that waits for a handy person to transform it from a property into a home...

Alright, so you've found an ugly house that's disturbingly close to where you live. And instead of just averting your eyes and pretending there's nothing to the place, you've decided to send in some pictures and commentary.

You may send up to ten pictures of the dump in question. Please limit file sizes to under 500 Kb apiece, or we may end up having to crop them beyond recognition... not always a bad thing, for especially unattractive properties. You may send these images, and all comments, to EyesoreSpotter@fixmyneighborhood.com. Either copy and paste the address into your e-mail, or click the link to use your default e-mail program.

Also, please add your own scale of 1-5 Shack ratings on the basis of:
  • The property's condition
  • The neighborhood's condition
  • Your personal standards

For a detailed explanation of the 5 Shack Rating System, see the Site Lingo Page.

How to copy and paste- In Windows,

    2. Release the button, and press Ctrl-C (the Control key and the C key, at the same time).
    3. Then go to the section where your e-mail allows you to send, and there will be a field with the word "To:" next to it.
    4. Then left-click into the relevant field, press Ctrl-V (Control and V at the same time) to paste.
    5. Then return to your e-mail, again by pressing "Attach Files."
    6. Remember to send it! (everybody forgets sometimes)

How to attach files- In Windows,
    1. Be certain you know which folders on your computer your files are located in, and please be sure they are 500 Kb or smaller.
    2. Go to your e-mail and click "Attach." If your e-mail service doesn't have such a button, get a better one.
    3. There will be a field for each file, and a button that says "Browse..." Click the Browse button.
    4. A small window will open up. At the top will be a field called "Look in:" which designates the folder where there are files. Usually, your files will be in a completely different folder... because they wouldn't want the process to be too convenient.
    5. There will most likely be a downward-facing arrow next to the "Look in:" field. Left-click on the arrow, and it will bring up different potential folders.
    6. Select your folder, double-click your file (or left-click it and click "Open"), and repeat for as many files as necessary. If your e-mail is especially good, you can click and drag the cursor over multiple files to save time.
